Getting from/to the Airports
There are two international airports serving Taipei:
- The most convenient airport for traveling to Taipei.
- Offers regular scheduled flights from major international airlines.
- Located approximately 50 kilometers from Grand Hyatt Taipei and Taipei 101.
- Recommended: Taxi or airport shuttle for the most direct and seamless way to reach Xinyi District.
- Primarily serves destinations in Taiwan and other locations in Asia (e.g., Seoul, Tokyo, mainland China).
- Located less than 20 minutes by car to Grand Hyatt Taipei and Taipei 101.
- More conveniently located than Taoyuan Airport.
Public Transportation in Taipei
TAXI
- In Taiwan, taxis are yellow and widely available at taxi ranks, hotels, and airports.
- Taxis can also be hailed on the streets of Taipei City.
- Uber is available as well.
- Estimated fares:
- Taoyuan Airport → Taipei City: ~NT$1,200
- Songshan Airport → Taipei City: ~NT$500
BUS
- Taipei buses cover the entire city and are a great way to explore in depth.
- Fares:
- Payable in coins or using the EasyCard (electronic travel card)
- One trip costs NT$15
- When using the EasyCard:
- Tap the card when boarding and alighting
- Fare will be deducted accordingly

METRO (MRT)
- Often the fastest and most convenient mode of transport in Taipei
- Train frequency: Every 3 to 5 minutes
- Average travel time between stations: ~2 minutes
- Not allowed inside the metro: Smoking, eating, drinking, chewing gum
- Ticketing:
- One-way tickets from vending machines
- Day passes and EasyCard available at MRT information desks
